Tulsi Tea Lemonade

A refreshing tulsi (holy basil) tea lemonade. Tulsi is an ayurvedic adaptogen rich in ursolic acid, which promotes calm and reduces stress and anxiety.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp tulsi tea leaves
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 0.25 cup lemon juice
  • Sparkling water

Instructions

  1. Place the tulsi tea leaves in a heatproof bowl, add the just-boiled water, and stir. Let steep for 5 minutes, then strain into a pitcher. Add the maple syrup or honey, stir, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 45 minutes, until chilled. Add the lemon juice.
  2. Fill glasses with ice, then top off with the tea lemonade and a splash of sparkling water.
